PTFE vs PEEK chemical resistance?
PTFE: virtually all chemicals at moderate temperature. PEEK: most chemicals at high temperature, weaker against some solvents.
Crevice/pitting corrosion in chemicals?
Localized corrosion in stagnant or trapped chemical exposure. Avoid crevices. Use higher-PRE alloys.
Galvanic effects in chemical environments?
Multiple metals + electrolyte chemical = galvanic corrosion. Use single metal or insulate.
Temperature affects chemical attack?
Major effect. Many materials OK at room temperature fail at elevated. Verify per service temperature.
